📣 Drifters Update: Refunds, Relaunch, and Reveal

A pivot toward preserving the vision.

❤️ A Message From the Team

Drifters was a massive creative effort — over two years in the making, with more than 45 contributors across art, tech, and production. It took not just time, but significant funding, and we hoped this mint would support years of continued innovation.

Unfortunately, it didn’t go as planned. So instead of waiting and hoping for a market shift, we’re making transparent changes to sustain what we’ve built.

We’re entering preservation mode: halting active development, reducing costs, and focusing our remaining runway on what matters most — keeping the NFTs online and the platform functional for everyone. We’ll be focusing on archiving all Genesis Mechs and Drifter assets on Arweave to ensure they remain permanently accessible and secure.

To be clear: we’re not leaving.
Core volunteer team members will continue supporting Drifters, CyberBrokers, and Genesis Mechs as we’re able, just not as our day-to-day jobs.

We’ve seen too many founders disappear. That’s not who we are. We’re prioritizing permanence and ownership over growth.

Here’s what that means:

• Refunds to all previous buyers were issued yesterday (automatically sent to your purchase wallet) — and you’ll keep your Packs as a thank you

• All remaining DNA Packs will relaunch at reduced prices on tpldrifters.com

• Allowlist sale begins today, June 3 at 2PM CDT / 7PM UTC for CyberBroker holders, Genesis Mech holders, and previous DNA Pack buyers

• Public sale opens June 4 at 2PM CDT / 7PM UTC

• Reveal is now scheduled for June 17, giving us time to make a few contract updates

• Operations to keep the platform, art, and customization tools online

We’re doing this to protect the assets, the experience, and the vision we all believe in.
If the market returns — Drifters will be ready.
If it doesn’t — we’ve still built something permanent and beautiful.

🧾 Refunds Were Processed

ETH refunds were processed yesterday for everyone who purchased a DNA Pack. They were sent directly to the wallet used during mint. And don’t worry, you get to keep your Packs. Consider them a thank you for supporting the project early. You’ll still be able to reveal them, claim items, and customize your Drifter like anyone else.

💸 Relaunch Details & New Pricing

We’re reopening minting at tpldrifters.com with reduced prices and two phases to give early supporters first access to the remaining inventory. All proceeds go toward keeping the platform live and accessible for the long haul. There is a 21 Pack per address allowlist purchase limit (subject to change before the sale starts). The "Buy 1 Expansion + 1 Collector Pack, Get 1 Starter Pack Free" deal is no longer active. You will still receive 1 free BioCanvas with every DNA Pack Purchase.

🛡️ Allowlist Sale – Today, June 3 at 2PM CDT (7PM UTC)

The eligibility snapshot was taken on June 2. Access will be granted to the wallet that either holds the qualifying assets on Ethereum or was used to make the original DNA Pack purchase.

Remaining Packs will be available to everyone. There is no public sale purchase limit.

🎨 Drifter Upgrades

We’ve made the experience more flexible and affordable so you can focus on creativity.

• Reduced Custom Name Pricing:

  • 1–3 characters: 0.1 ETH

  • 4 characters: 0.05 ETH

  • 5 characters: 0.02 ETH

  • 6 characters: 0.01 ETH

  • 7+ characters: 0.002 ETH

• BioCanvases (if needed) are now just 0.002 ETH

• Color customization is now completely free

  • Color Infusions are no longer NFTs

  • You can now apply any color to any customizable item at no cost
    

🔓 Reveal + Claims Begin June 17

Reveal is still happening, just moved to June 17, 2025 at 2PM CDT (7PM UTC) to give everyone time to get ready. Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of Reveal.

Step 1: Reveal Your DNA Packs

On June 17, head to the DNA Center at tpldrifters.com and initiate Reveal. You’ll have 20 minutes per pack to:

• Open and view the contents (your G.E.A.R.)

• Make your selections (e.g., “choose 2 of 3 Uncommons”)

• Finalize your picks and lock them into your inventory

Once your Pack is revealed, it’s burned, and your G.E.A.R. is yours to use.

Step 2: Build Your Drifter

Go to the Genomeward to begin customizing. You’ll:

• Select a BioCanvas (included with each Pack, or buy extras for 0.002 ETH)

• Apply your selected G.E.A.R. — skins, traits, wearables, and colors

• Choose a name:

  • Free autogenerated options, or

  • Claim a custom name (fees based on character length, see above)

• Create your unique NFT image by selecting poses and themes.

When you're ready, mint your Drifter NFT to the Base blockchain. Drifters are updatable — you can always come back later to swap G.E.A.R., change visuals, and regenerate your image

🎁 G.E.A.R. Claims for Eligible Holders

On June 17 at 2PM CDT (7PM UTC), eligible NFT holders will be able to claim free G.E.A.R. at tpldrifters.com/claims.

• CyberBrokers (1 G.E.A.R. claim per CyberBroker held, based on Talent)

  • Also includes 1 BioCanvas claim per CyberBroker held

• Genesis Mechs (1 G.E.A.R. claim per Mech owned, based on Model)

• Version Beta Participants (1 G.E.A.R. claim per Faction joined)

• CryptoPunks (1 G.E.A.R. claim per asset owned)

• Doodles (1 G.E.A.R. claim per asset owned)

• CryptoKitties (1 G.E.A.R. claim per asset owned)
